Week 7 Heartbeat!

Just got home from our OB apt.... we got to see the heartbeat!! We stopped for a celabratory meal on the way home (and for an unscheduled visit to a newly opened BaskinRobins)! Dr. Grey-Swain said that we have a "normal pregnancy."

So, the image is hazy, but the the baby is the white area inside the black circle. She (still saying a girl) is upside down. Her head is at the bottom "+" and her rump is at the top "+." The white area to the left of her is the yoke sac. She is measuring at 7W3D, but the OB put her due date as Nov. 14 (putting me at 7W4D).

This is measuring the heart rate. The heart was beating at 136bpm here, but closer to 150bpm during another "capture." It was really cool to see the beating heart (I could only see 2 chambers as of yet, but she is so small). We couldn't hear anything with the ultrasound machine, but seeing movement was AMAZING!

Here is the belly pic of the week (7W4D I guess). Mr. Moon seems very interested right? I think he is chasing the reflection of the camera flash off of my skin. Notice I am wearing maternity pants already! GAAAA! Stretchy pants! Hondo says that it is a trick: Manufacturers make maternity clothing so comfortable that even after the baby is born, women never give up the stretchy waisted pant!! I think he is right!

Here is one of the maternity shirts that mom sent. Thanks mom (you can see it fits the boobs)! Teddy is waiting for a new baby to drool over him (thanks dad for buying me Teddy before driving up to your first job in Montana after I was born).

Here are the dogs - OUTSIDE of the nursery. We are implementing a NO DOG policy in order to avoid chewed up poopy baby diapers slung throughout the house! EWWW! Still looking for the perfect diaper containment device to reduce the temptation for the puppies.

This is where the cats spend their time. Mr. Moon really likes the crib much better than Nigel, and isn't really good at sharing. This is a rare moment of cooperation. You will notice that the "LotsAlotsAlegs" has on a disposable diaper. It was a sample that was mailed to us months ago, and I wanted to test it out! I know it is kind of creepy...

I go back to see Dr. Grey-Swain in 3 weeks... check back weekly for more updates. Laters!
