I need to relate the reasons why I have decided to call our child Baby 'Roo. Ok, so 'Roo is short for Kangaroo. This cycle, I knew I was pregnant way before we got a positive blood test. In fact, I think we had 6 negative pregnancy tests before I convinced our doctor to do a blood test (while hondo was getting his annual physical). This was obviously frustrating! Not only did I have the normal anxiety during this waiting period, but also Our Babies due date fell during this time, and their was a lunar eclipse. I took both of these things to be "signs" that a pregnancy was destined.BACKTRACK: The Lunar Eclipse was significant because I see Our Boys living with the Maiden (the waxing moon). Although she is at a point in her life where she is carefree and without children, Our Babies were so cute and innocent that she took them to eternally live with her. Our Boys live with a Godess...
I kept talking to Hondo about why I thought I was pregnant (I was having crazy dreams,
sleeping lightly, awaking to pee several times a night, felt big, etc.), but we were getting negative tests. He required proof, and would not indulge in my pregnancy fantasy. So, when I would go to bed at night, I would talk to my baby. She and I would converse in secret. This reminded me of a song that Hondo introduced me to when we were dating by The Big Wu called Kangaroo. Here are the lyrics:Kangaroo! I'm betting on the off track on the off chance that you left the outback, my kangaroo Kangaroo! Jack rabbit in a bushwhack decided to give me a bounce-back, my kangaroo (chorus) My Kangaroo, it ain't so hard for you to bounce in my back yard We can sail the ocean blue, My Kangaroo Kangaroo! You mean more to me than just another wannabe wallaby, My kangaroo Kangaroo! I read it in a book, they say your country was settled by crooks but that's ok, my kangaroo Kangaroo it ain't so hard for you to bounce in my back yard We can sail the ocean blue my kangaroo, My Kangaroo
Here is my logic:1. The kangaroo comes from a far away place. Even though I knew she was comming, no one else believed me. Plus, she comes from "the land down under" by a band named "The Big Wu" Ha HA HA!
2. I wanted her so badly to "bounce in my backyard." I can't wait to feel her bounce in my belly and inhabit our lives together.
3. I would go to any lengths to have her here. "we can sail the ocean blue my kangaroo"
4. She lives in my belly and I will protect her (like a momma kangaroo). Luckily I am not a marsupial, however I do plan on wearing my baby in a sling (aka pouch).
