Here is our baby!!
They checked the crown-rump length (CRL) at 6.9mm. Which is "right on" with my estimated due date (based on my last menstrual period) of 3/16/10. That means that today we are 6 weeks and 3 days along our 40 week journey!
Here is the heart beat at 115 bpm... we got to see a little flickering of the screen which was the heart AND we got to hear the heartbeat!!We officially "graduated" from the Reproductive Endocrinologist (hasta luego Dr. Ratts). I have an appointment with Dr. Gray-Swain (my regular wonderful OB) in a couple of weeks. Hopefully we will get another peak at baby then!
WOW!! I am overwhelmed. I have spent the past few weeks playing mind games: One second I believe the baby's fine and am happily planning for the future; the next second I am convinced the baby is already gone and I am a walking tomb. I can only hope that as I get more and more outward signs of the pregnancy, that I will really BELIEVE that we are going to be parents to a living child in March. I know I will never have the naivete of my first pregnancy, but I don't want to live with one foot in the grave!
So, for now I am happily gestating! Happy to be queasy all the time. Happy to be able to smell everything that has ever gone down the kitchen sink. Happy to have giant sore boobs! Happy to be exhausted. Happy to pee 3-5 times a night. Happy to not be fitting in my clothes (but not so happy to realize that my ass no longer fits in my old maternity pants)! Happy to be loved. Happy to be blessed!
