It is finally 2009! I have been using my 2009 calendar since the middle of November with printed out pages stuck in the front! But, in the spirit of the season, I will shortly reminisce of 2008...
Here were my 2008 Goals:
1. eat healthy
2. create hope
3. remove fear
4. finish the nursery
Updates on 2008 Goals:
1. We joined Fair Shares this year which is a CSA that supports not only farms, but other local food sources (pizza, bread, chocolate, pasta sauce, etc...). We have expanded our palates, improved my cooking skills, and definitely increased our intake of veggies!!
2. HOPE: although this year has had many moments of disappointment, I believe I have incorporated hope into my internal dialogue. I have deepened and formed new relationships with friends and my parents, found a church which supports and challenges my soul, and bonded more deeply than I thought possible with my loving husband!
3. FEAR: I think that I will struggle with fear my whole life. I fear the unplanned future the most? It is the nature of things to change, but up until this point in my life I have been able to plan for what happens next. I still struggle to incorporate in my life the realization that things will always change and that is the only thing that is constant.
4. We completed the nursery, removed all of the carpet, took out dead trees, removed wall paper from the kitchen, replaced the counter top in the kitchen, and finished painting the morning room!!! YEAH for finally making this house ours!!
For 2009:
1. Finish the kitchen "recession re-model."
2. Explore Missouri and surrounding areas.
3. Continue to foster supportive relationships.
4. Build up savings.
5. Either get pregnant or initiate adoption by the end of the year.
6. When someone asks, "How are you?" I hope to answer honestly, "I'm great!"
